The fifth generation (5G) mobile telephony was discussed at the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) conference at IIT Patna. The discussion mainly focussed upon how the 5G technology seeks to change the mobile and communication network

5G-connectivity necessitates a faster data and voice exchange among service providers, mobile users, and customers at up-to 10Gbps. Hosted by Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IITP) the ‘Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ International Symposium on the 5G Technology discussed the aspects of next generation of the mobile telecommunication standards.

The event has been organized under the aegis of Center for TelelnFrastruktur of Denmark - Aalborg University and jointly by IIT Patna and Global ICT Standardisation Forum for India. This is the 4th IEEE summit. Also the previous IEEE summit was held in Princeton, Santa Clara and Toronto in the months of May & November, 2015.
