For the entrance examination of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017, the registration process has started from 1 st September and will close on 4 th October 2016 . IIT Roorkee will conduct the online examination from 4 th to 5 th February 2017 and 11 th to 12 th February 2017 (On Saturdays and Sundays only).
National Coordination Board-GATE, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and other seven IITs like- IIT Bombay , IIT Delhi, IIT Madras , IIT Guwahati , IIT Kanpur, and IIT Roorkee ,Higher Education Department Ministry of Human Resouces Development, Government of India, will conduct the exam.

Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2017:
Candidates applying for the programme must have a Bachelor's degree in any one of these subjects like in Engineering/Technology, Architecture (5-year), B.Sc, Master's degree in Mathematics/ Science/ Statistics/ Computer Applications, or a five-year integrated B.Sc/M.Sc degree, or five-year integrated Master of Science (M.Sc) degree.
Exam Pattern for GATE- 2017:
- The examination will be of three hours duration with a single paper
- There will be a total of 65 questions in the 100-marks paper
- The question paper will consist of both numerical answer type questions and multiple choice questions (MCQ)

How to Apply for GATE -2017:
Log on to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website, and fill-up the application form.
The GATE aspirants from foreign countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Singapore,and UAE can apply for the programme also. However, they should have BE degree or Master's degree in science or a relevant subject. Those appearing in the final year examinations also can apply for the programme.
