Due to last-minute glitches, non-functional helplines, and unclear government guidelines many law students lined up in front of the Maharashtra CET (Common Entrance Test) cell office.
The law students are worried about their admission in the law institutes or universities as the deadline for admission to LLB course in all of these law institutes or universities is today, September 17, 2019.
The students lined up in front of the Maharashtra CET cell so that this problem can be solved and they can get admission. However, the law students got into a heated discussion with the Maharashtra CET cell officials. The CET cell officials claimed that the colleges or universities or institutes were given system login ids to make the obvious changes. However, the views of students differed to this statement given by CET cell officials, they said that the colleges and universities were referring them to CET cell.
Anand Rayate, CET Cell Commissioner commented on this chaotic situation that this happened due to less number of staffs available in the Maharashtra CET cell office on 16 September 2019. He added that every year some problem arises during the admission and they will appoint a committee to look into the issue and improve the admission process.
Many students reported that even after submitting the correct documents and successfully filling up the application forms the colleges said that their documents were not approved.

One of the applicants, Samiksha Parekh said that the college cancelled her admission as the graduation marks were not calculated perfectly. She added that there are four ways to calculate the marks but the students are not aware of which one is the correct way. On top of that, students cannot go back to the form to rectify as it gets locked once approved.
Hamza Lakdawala another applicant said that students are trying hard here and there so that they can take their application forward. However, they are facing a lot of problems and are struggling to submit the same.
The Maharashtra CET cell even started Setu Suvidha Kendra which is a non-stop process for document verification. However, there were many technical glitches in the initiative and it had to be shut down.
