GNLU Centre for Law and Society has joined hands with The Legal Services Committee and set up a Free Legal Aid Clinic for Koba village in Gandhinagar district. So far the initiation is doing well and if all the objectives of the committee are completed then koba village can have a very nice future.

This project has worked on making the people of Koba village aware about their rights and teaching them about legal aid.
The clinic was setup under Section 4(k) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 which emphasizes on developing and promoting clinical legal education along with supervising the establishment and functioning of legal services clinics across various institutions in consultation with the Bar Council of India.
The villagers are provided assistance through a variety of methods that includes.
- Traditional casework
- Summary advice
- Community legal education
- Awareness programmes
- Community development
Dustbins distribution is also a part of the project as they want to promote the Swachh Bharat and Nirmal Gujarat programs started by the Central and State Governments respectively.
The Panchayat also plans to install around ten computers in the Government Primary School, Koba village to encourage computer education of children.In addition, they plans to give away milk and milk products for the kids of the village twice a week.
GNLU Legal Services Committee is one of the most significant initiatives of GNLU students which aim to contribute to the empowerment of the society by providing legal awareness and aid. Working to realize the motto “Awareness, Assertion, Action”, GNLU LSC undertakes teaching, research and training round-the-year on issues and challenges faced by the civil society at large.
