Addressing the participants at the inaugural ceremony of 3 rd International Conference on Yoga at New Delhi, Vice President of India, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu mentioned that the most invaluable gift to the modern world is the ancient science of yoga. The people must believe that science and knowledge should be transmitted freely for the welfare of the world. Yoga is termed as the mother of all the exercises, which provide mental alertness, physical fitness and spiritual succour. Yoga is not associated with any religion and it is unfortunate to witness that a few people are still attributing the religious overtones to this ancient scientific system, he added.
Ministry of AYUSH had organised the conference where Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik indicated that yoga is the best remedy for health problems and bringing peace in life. He further pointed that Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (New Delhi), National Institute of Naturopathy (Pune) and Central Institute for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy have been playing a vital role in standardisation of yoga.
