The curriculum covers topics ranging from Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry to cater to a well rounded education. Important chapters in this subject are 'Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry', 'Chemical Bonding' and 'Hydrocarbons' etc. which are useful for both the preparation for the board exams as well as further studies of science.
Another important aspect to keep in mind during preparation for this exam is chapter wise weightage. The distribution of marks across different chapters is as follows: For 'Electrochemistry', 'Solutions' and 'Amine Compounds', each of these carries 6 marks. 5 marks are allocated to other chapters such as "Chemical Kinetics," "Co-ordination Compounds," and "Alcohol, Phenol and Ether Compounds." "Haloalkene and Haloarenes Compounds" has the least weightage at 3 marks, therefore, students can get to know which topics they should put more focus on and which topics they can practice later on.
