The admissions to paramedical courses in various Ayurvedic, Physiotherapy and Nursing colleges across the state of Gujarat will begin from December 9, 2016, and continue until December 12, 2016.
For conducting the admission process, the government has formulated a special admission committee. The admission process will be carried out to fill up 540 nursing seats as well as 800 physiotherapy seats. The students who have already sought admission to BDS/MBBS course and are willing to join paramedical courses must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the concerned college authorities.

Ever year, some of the students shift to paramedical courses after seeking admission to MBBS/BDS course. The reason is that there are a high number of employment opportunities in Ayurvedic, Physiotherapy and Nursing courses. Moreover, the fees for these courses are relatively low.
Officials indicated that it is tough for the candidates to procure an NOC from the concerned college managements as the admission process to BDS/MBBS course is already completed. If a student gets the NOC, the medical seat will remain vacant in the colleges. Hence, most of the college managements do not show interest in issuing NOC.

The candidates who did not get a medical seat and are waiting to join paramedical courses have to attend the admission process on time as per merit number. The candidates have to attend the admission process with a sum of Rs. 20,000 along with original educational certificates. However, most of the candidates are facing difficulty in managing money due to a cash crunch. Hence the selection committee has to find an alternative regarding the receipt of fees.
