One of the senior officials associated with the government of Gujarat revealed that the government had conducted job fairs across 12 clusters, and a total number of 1,09,520 students bagged jobs. The job fairs were conducted for a week, and a total number of 1,42,970 candidates registered for job fairs. Various national multinational companies took part in the job fairs which were held across 33 districts of the state.
JN Singh, Chief Secretary revealed that a total number of 2,184 companies took part in the job fairs and recruited students. More job opportunities were created in the state with the investments made by various companies during the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit’. Therefore, to recruit eligible candidates, these companies took part in job fairs, which were held from February 11 to 17, 2017.

According to the report given by JN Singh, among the selected candidates, 21,017 were women and 88,503 were men. Interestingly, a total number of 144 differently-abled persons also bagged jobs in various companies. More job opportunities were bagged by students belonging to SC/ST and SEBC categories.
A total number of 55,778 candidates were offered jobs in the service sector, and 56,742 candidates bagged jobs in the manufacturing sector.
