Science and Technology Department of Gujarat (Gujarat Centre of Excellence), NASSCOM and IIT Gandhinagar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a Centre of Excellence for IoT (Internet of Things) . Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Vijay Rupani was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister of Gujarat expressed that setting up an IoT centre is a matter of pride for the state. While IoT centres are most prevalent in developed countries, the field is slowly emerging in India, he added.

The IoT centre in Gujarat will play a dominant role in encouraging innovation in start-ups . Young entrepreneurs in the field of health, agriculture and production need such centres to incubate their ideas. Apart from that, the budding entrepreneurs will get guidance from the experts of IIT Gandhinagar and NASSCOM. The entrepreneurs will be able to make use of the advanced infrastructure facilities available at the two institutes in the process of incubating their ideas.
The IoT centre in Gujarat will additionally set up a unique platform to design digital solutions for Industries 4.0 . Whether it is the industry of education or enabling entrepreneurs to interact with policymakers of various companies, IoT centre will ensure utilization of technology in real life.

NASSCOM President and other senior officials of Science and Technology Department were also present on the occasion and hailed the move of setting up the IoT centre.
