A total number of 12 new research chairs have been set up in GNLU or Gujarat National Law University along with fellowships worth Rs. 3 crore by government departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), law firms, national and global corporations.
Recently, a leading law firm and public trust under Navin Chandra Desai Law Foundation set up two Chairs. The varsity is aiming to forge a partnership with a greater legal fraternity. Now, Gujarat National Law University will assist students and lawyers to enhance their skills and undertake research in inter-governmental organizations. The varsity will also encourage students to publish research works.

One of the leading law firms, Cyril Amarchand Mangalds also set up a dedicated Chair that will enable a forum for discussion as well as the study of judicial and legal ethics and values to assist law commission of India, bar, and judiciary. The Chair will also provide legal advice and research on contemporary issues to institutions.
