HAL Management Academy (HMA), which is run by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has started two PG Diploma Management programmes on July 8, 2020. The PG Diplomas offer the applicants a chance to pursue the diplomas in Aviation Management and Production Management. This is a good opportunity for those who are interested in a career in aviation as it can open up avenues in the aerospace and the aviation sector.
The diploma has come at a time when the government has been undertaking various initiatives to improve the regional air connectivity through the UDAAN programme, for instance, Make in India in the defence sector which can help increase the employment prospects in aviation manufacturing and the service sector. The diploma is approved by the AICTE.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Diploma at HMA
In order to pursue a PG diploma at HAL, one needs to be a graduate with a degree in either science, engineering or computer science in order to apply for the programme.
Admission Process for PG Diploma at HMA
The last date to apply for the PG Diplomas is July 31, 2020. The programmes at HMA are comprehensive with extensive coverage on aviation management, aerospace field and production management. It also includes case studies which are designed by the faculty, industry experts and practising professionals. Industrial visits to the test centres, design houses and hangars are also organised as a part of the programme in order to make the learning more relevant for the students. The academy also has collaborations with IIMs , IITs and other prestigious institutes for offering domain-specific expertise pertaining to the programmes.
The institute is yet to take a decision regarding the admission process. It is not clear yet if the admission will be on the basis of a written test followed by an interview (online/ offline depending on the coronavirus situation.
Course Fee for PG Diploma at HMA
The fee for the course is Rs.6.5 lakh including the mess and hotel charges.
The courses are supposed to begin from the second half of September 2020 and there is a possibility that online classes might be conducted during the first semester. Things are dependent on the COVID-19 situation and the institute will take a call if it has to offer subjects in the first semester through online interactive classrooms.

HMA has also been offering an executive PG Diploma in Aviation Management for experienced persons for the past three years.
