Seventeen years old Vipul Garg from Jind Haryana has topped the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) 2015.
While Khushi Tiwari from Rajasthan is the topper from girls and she is also the second rank holder.
Both the toppers are from unreserved category. Vipul, who hails from Jind, Rohtak road, scored 90% in his class XII boards.The son of a bag seller in Jind, Garg is a student of New Holy Public School in New Delhi's Uttam Nagar East.
While talking to media he said "I was happy after my exam but never thought of topping it though. But I am happy that I will be able to pursue medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College. New Delhi I want to become a cardiologist or neurologist.
While talking about the order of the Supreme Court he said, “The order of the Supreme Court came as an opportunity for me as it gave enough time to me to focus on my weak areas and work on them.”
Girls topper Khushi scored 86.3% in her class XII boards. Daughter of dentist parents, Khushi Tiwari was ranked 129 in the AIIMS exams held earlier this year, and had taken admission in AIIMS, Jodhpur (Rajasthan). But she would like to join Maulana Azad Medical College.
The examination was conducted at 1,065 centres in 50 cities across the country and abroad and out of the 6,32,625 candidates registered for this examination, 4,22,859 candidates downloaded the admit card.
The decision to re-conduct the examination came after the Supreme Court's direction to CBSE following allegations of large-scale irregularities in the examination held on May 3.
In all 32,862 male candidates and 32,073 female candidates qualified the exams.
