Due to the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, higher education institutes in the country have been urged to postpone all the offline examinations that are scheduled to be conducted in May. Higher education institutes include IITs , NITs , IIITs , GFTIs , IIMs , Universities & Colleges can conduct online exams if possible instead of offline exams. Those institutes where online exams are not feasible can wait till the first week of June 2021 to conduct offline exams. The Education Ministry will review the situation in the first week of June, and a decision will be taken about conducting offline exams.
With the number of second-wave Covid-19 cases have been increasing rapidly, students have been requesting respective universities and colleges to postpone exams. While some universities have already taken a decision to go ahead with online exams, most of the universities are yet to take a call on the same. For many universities, conducting online exams might be a challenging task considering several factors such as the availability of high-speed internet connectivity, online resources etc. Students' feedback is also important for these universities to hold online exams.
In all probability, the final-year exams for various UG and PG courses will be conducted as early as possible considering the Covid-19 situation in India after the first week of June. The number of second-wave Covid-19 cases is expected to drop in June, and universities may look forward to conducting exams.

Students are advised to use this additional time to secure a good percentage/ CGPA/ Grade in the exams. Postponing exams scheduled in May 2021 is the right decision taken by the student considering students’ safety.
