Through this initiative, higher education institutes can promote innovation through different modes, which result in the creation of an innovative eco-system on college/ university campuses, he explained.
The Central University of Kashmir is one among the institutes that formed the Institution’s Innovation Council . MHRD awarded Certificates of Registration to institutes that established IICs in their campuses.
MHRD established ‘Innovation Cell’ at AICTE with an aim to foster the innovation culture in higher learning institutes across the country. The ministry is looking forward to encouraging more institutes and students to come up with innovative ideas for the development of the nation. Lack of innovation is one of the reasons for the poor performance of Indian institutes in global rankings.
