Human Resource Development Ministry has formed a committee under the supervision of Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Education Minister, Gujarat, to suggest ways to reduce the fear of maths among students and make subjects easy. HRD Ministe r Prakash Javadekar made the announcement regarding the same on 11 April 2018 at the Annual Meeting of NCERT.

Javadekar informed the authorities that the decision to form a committee was taken on the basis of National Assessment Survey to reduce the fear of maths among the students. He also said that various math experts and educationists will be a part of this committee so that they can find out different ways and approaches to make maths easy for students.
They will also focus on teacher’s training to help reduce stress among students for which another committee will be formed under the chairmanship of Kadiyam Srihari, Deputy Chief Minister, Telangana. Both committees have been asked to form a report and submit it within three months.

Government is also planning to reduce the burden of NCERT syllabus . As they thought this is one of the reasons of stress among students. They have received an overwhelming response regarding their suggestion to reduce the NCERT syllabus . As of now they have around 15,000 suggestion on the matter and are expecting the number to go up to 1 lakh by the end of this month. They have also increased the education budget by 20% and the government is committed to increasing it by 20% every year.
