The Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development is going to launch 32 educational TV channels out of which three channels will help students prepare for IIT entrance examination. According to the sources, the content for all these channels has been finalised, and the ministry is working consistently to make sure that these channels reach every household.

HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar took part in a meeting with leading cable operators and DTH service providers and requested them to be a part of educational revolution by making these channels available in cable and DTH platforms.
The content of three channels which help the students prepare for IIT exam has been finalised by Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. These three channels will focus on Biology, Physics and Mathematics. The fourth channel will focus on Biology which helps the students prepare for medical entrance examinations. The other two channels will focus on teachers’ education. The primary objective of the ministry is to reduce the dependence on private coaching centres.

Several reputed universities like Punjabi University , IGNOU , Kashmir University and Jamia Millia Islamia have been roped in by the HRD Ministry to prepare content for these channels.
The officials of HRD Ministry said that the content is not only available in English but also Hindi and other regional languages. There is also animated content for children on these channels.
