The Indira Gandhi National Open University, popularly known as IGNOU, is the oldest and most famous open university in India. The School of Management Studies of IGNOU has declared the launch of a new course called ‘Awareness Programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST)’.
The School of Management Studies, IGNOU has collaborated with Bombay Stock Exchange Institute Limited (abbreviated at BSE) to launch this programme on Goods and Services Tax. it aims at imparting basic knowledge and important skills that are needed to fulfill several requirements under the GST Act.

The admission process for the Awareness Programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST) of IGNOU will begin from July 2019. As per a statement that was given by IGNOU, this GST programme will prove to be beneficial for those people who are involved in the filing of several indirect tax returns and in maintaining accounts.
The statement declared that entrepreneurs who are engaged in the ventures of small-scale businesses can also be benefited by this programme because it provides an overview of the formalities and procedures that are to be compiled under the GST Act. The primary objectives of this programme are to teach skills to the bookkeeping professionals how to file several regular GST returns along with all the numerous compliance requirements.

IGNOU Awareness Programme on Goods and Services Tax Eligibility
The eligibility for this Awareness Programme on Goods and Services Tax of IGNOU is that the candidate who is applying should have cleared his/her 10+2 examinations. The course will be delivered and carried out only in English. The course will be offered in both the sessions of IGNOU, January as well as July and its duration will be of two months minimum and six months maximum.
The study material of Awareness Programme on Goods and Services Tax will be divided into small components of seven modules and it will be available only in the online mode.
