The Indira Gandhi National Open University is introducing a Certificate in First Aid Programme (CFAID) from July 2018. The main aim of the certificate programme is to offer training to learners in first aid during emergencies.
Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre, Lucknow, Manorama Singh stated that this programme will help those candidates who plan to pursue careers as aides and assistants in ambulance departments, nursing home, traffic departments, teachers and fire marshals. The programme is also a good option for the general public to learn about first aid.

Anamika Sinha, Assistant Regional Director, said that the candidates who have passed class 10th or equivalent examination are eligible to pursue this course. This course will benefit the general public and professionals who wish to gain knowledge about first aid.

The admission procedure for the certificate course will start from July 2018. Candidates interested in the same can apply online on the official website of IGNOU. The last date of application is 30th July.
