A new certificate programme has been launched by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The new course of IGNOU is Spanish Language and Culture, application process of which has already started and is about to end on 15th January 2019. This course has been planned only for the candidates who have an interest in learning the Spanish language and wish to know about the culture attached to the language.
The Certificate course in Spanish Language and Culture will focus mainly on disseminating knowledge about the core essence of the Spanish language with the different ways and platforms through which the best of the language can be extracted. Through the certificate programme, students will get to learn the skill sets along with the socio-cultural ability enabling an effective communicative process among Spanish society.

The Certificate course has been structured and patterned into a bilingual course supported by English and Spanish language. The programme will be disseminated through multimedia mediums so that the teaching and learning process may become easy and quick. To teach the students in the best possible way, the curriculum has been planned well in combination with both practical as well as the theoretical approach of teaching.
To start with the new programme, a contact session will be organised at different defined IGNOU Study Centers on weekends. This contact session is one of the most important parts of this Certificate course in Spanish Language and Culture. For the ones interested in this course must know that the eligibility criteria for the programme are to possess a passing certificate of 10+2 or equivalent along with good control over the English language.

More than 450 million people around the globe speak this language. It is also the second largest US language and official language for four continents along with being the native language for 21 countries in the world.
