Indira Gandhi National Open University has confirmed its collaboration with Common Services Network of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and National E-Governance Division. The purpose of the collaboration is to develop E-Governance training videos. A Memorandum of Understanding between IGNOU, CSC and NeGD will be signed soon.
After the signing of MoU, National E-Governance Division will provide technical assistance which is necessary for the LMS. The collaboration will be highly beneficial for the students of IGNOU. Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, Mr. Ravindra Kumar made this announcement while delivering his speech at the Independence Day celebrations of the varsity.

Giving details about the National E-Governance Division and Common Services Network, Mr. Ravindra Kumar said that these are the access points for electronic service delivery that will reach out to the villages throughout the country. He further added that IGNOU students will be able to access all the Common Services Network centres in the form of CSC wallets. Both NeGD and CSC will play a significant role in developing a digitally and financially inclusive society.

According to sources, IGNOU, NeGD and Common Services Network are expected to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on August 22, 2017. During the Independence Day celebrations, the varsity also launched ‘IGNOU Digi News’, a digital news portal. The varsity also launched the digital version of Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme in the form of a Compact Disc (CD). The varsity will distribute the CDs along with the study materials. The varsity has been taking extensive steps in the digitalisation of various processes of the university.
