Indira Gandhi National Open University or IGNOU in collaboration with Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (BSM) will be organising a lecture series on ‘Bharat Bodh – Idea of India’. Union Minister of Human Resource and Development, Mr. Prakash Javadekar inaugurated the lecture series on August 28, 2017, and addressed the gathering.
Javadekar pointed that the education system of the country was structured and altered in such a way that students kept forgetting India’s culture and rather focussed on the cultural heritage of other countries. The National Council for Education Research and Training or NCERT will, therefore, come up with a few courses on India’s tradition and culture through which students will get a detailed account of the evolution of India’s culture and tradition, he added.

NCERT and HRD Ministry is planning to introduce a few courses in this regard, he expressed.
Javadekar further urged the Indology and Philosophy enthusiasts must attend the lecture series. It will turn out to be highly beneficial to exchange the ideas and have a detailed insight of India’s culture.
