The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has introduced the M.A. English course through Online Mode on January 31, 2022. Aspirants willing to register for the course have to visit the official website, ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
Master of Arts in English, commonly known as M.A. English will be a two years long programme that will provide a sound understanding of American and English Literature. The course will also cover some new areas in the literature stream like Canadian, Indian & Australian English.
In order to apply for MA English at IGNOU, students are required to possess a bachelor’s degree or a higher degree from a recognized university. For completing an MA English programme, an aspirant will have to choose for course/ courses from any module along with two mandatory courses that will have to be selected in the 1st year itself. If due to any reason a student is not able to finish the MA English programme, he/ she is allowed to exit the course with a PG Diploma in English after finishing 32 credits worth of course.

The fee for M.A. English at IGNOU is Rs. 13,600 for the entire programme which needs to be paid year-wise. The year-wise fee for the IGNOU M.A. English course is Rs. 6,800. The registration fee for the programme is Rs. 200 which needs to be paid with the first year fee.
The online M.A. English course at IGNOU will provide applicants with the comfort of completing the course in their own time. The course will enable more prospective applicants to pursue a Master's Degree in the English language.
