The 30 th convocation ceremony of Indira Gandhi National Open University will be held on April 13, 2017. The convocation ceremony will take place at the Electronic Media Production Centre of IGNOU. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister of State Higher Education will be the guest of honor on the occasion. Around two lakh students will be awarded degrees, certificates, and diplomas. The event will begin at 3:00 PM.
On this occasion, the Indira Gandhi National Open University will award Ph.D. degrees to 120 students and M.Phil degrees to 10 students. A total of 66 students will receive gold medals for showcasing excellence in academics. The varsity will also present cash prizes to five meritorious students. The degrees, diplomas, and certificates will be awarded in more than 200 courses that are offered by the varsity.

The candidates who have completed their degrees and other courses in December 2015/ June 2016 will only be eligible to get the degrees. The candidates who wish to get degrees during the convocation ceremony will have to register on the official website of IGNOU by paying a fee of Rs. 600.
The candidates who completed PG Certificate and Certificate programmes in various subjects need not register on the official website and pay the fee. The certificate of these candidates will be sent through post by the varsity after the completion of the convocation ceremony.

Indira Gandhi National Open University is regarded as the largest university in the world, which offers numerous courses. In the year 2015, the varsity awarded around 1,80,000 degrees. The varsity has begun the registration process for July 2017 session and interested candidates can apply for various courses through the official website of the varsity.
