In a major development, Indira Gandhi National Open University is planning to launch a course on Spiritualism and Moral Education from August 2017. The varsity will launch these programmes in collaboration with Swaminarayan Sansthan. All the centres of this organisation in India and abroad will cater as study centres for IGNOU in running the course.
Currently, the varsity is looking for possible steps to setup Swaminarayan Chair at the campus to start Moral Education and Spiritualism programmes by August 2017. All the centres of Swaminarayan Sansthan in India and abroad will not only function as study centres to the varsity but also examination centres.

One of the officials of Swaminarayan Sansthan revealed that the organisation would teach rich values and culture of India to the present generation.
The varsity is also in the process of finalising the syllabus for Pracheen Bhartiya Sabhyata Aivam Sanskriti course. Recently, IGNOU announced that it would offer 50% fee waiver for the candidates who come under Below Poverty Line. However, the fee waiver is applicable only to the six programmes offered by the varsity. The application cost is free for these candidates for these six programmes. All of these six programmes come under agriculture stream.

The candidates who are interested in applying for various programmes offered by IGNOU must note that June 30, 2017, is the deadline to complete the registration process for various programmes. The entire process of IGNOU is online, and the aspirants need to apply through the official admission portal of IGNOU.
