The Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership or IIDL has launched Post Graduate (PG) programme in leadership, politics and governance. IIDL is headed by Mr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, BJP Vice President. The main purpose of the programme is to inculcate necessary skills in the participants who wish to make a career in the field of politics and public affairs.
The induction programme of the course took place on August 16, 2017. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Mr. Vinay pointed that the PG programme in leadership, politics and governance is among the unique courses in the country. Today, there is a shortage of people with good leadership skills following which many NGOs, colleges and universities are facing problems. It is time to address the shortage of good managers in socio-political sphere, he added.

He also mentioned that the participants of the course would play a vital role in providing leadership to political parties, voluntary organisations, media houses and society. These participants will be trained with requisite skills of the field.
Earlier, IIDL received 450 applications for the PG course in leadership, politics and governance. After a thorough screening, a total number of 32 applicants were selected. The duration of the course will be nine months, he clarified.

Speaking about the career prospects of the course, he stated that the participants would be capable of entering public life in various aspects after the completion of the course. Leaders from voluntary organisations, media and politics will play a significant role in shaping the discourses and policy in a democracy. India is in need of skilled and talented youth to play a proactive role in the politics, he indicated.
Founder and Editor in Chief of Republic TV, Mr. Arnab Goswami addressed the first batch of the new PG programme along with Chairman of Sangeet Natak Academy, Mr. Shekar Sen.
