Institute of Health Management and Research (IIHMR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences (KGUMS) of Bhutan to initiate research consultancy, academic and training in Health Sciences at IIHMR, Delhi. The collaboration will start an era of cooperative beneficial understanding to support the newly established Health University in Bhutan.

President of KGUMS, Dr. K P Tshering Bhutan and Chairman of IIHMR, Dr. S D Gupta along with the Trustee Secretary IIHMR Group were the signatories to this important collaboration. In the next two months, two key training programmes will be organised by IIHRM at KGUMS.
Dr. S D Gupta who is the Chairman of IIHMR University revealed that under the five-year tie-up programme, IIHMR University would provide training facilities to the health professionals of Bhutan. The key modules of the training programmes are: -
- Training of Hospital Management
- Faculty Development
- Leadership Development
- Pedagogy
- Teaching and Training Technology
- Grant Management
IIHMR has an extensive history of maintaining successful international collaboration with neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh, Srilanka, Myanmar and Afganistan. KGUMS, Bhutan is the only medical science oriented university of Bhutan which aims to become a centre of excellence in paramedical sciences and human resource development.

IIHMR is a superior health management research institution in India which started its operations three decades ago. The institute has managed to become a Collaborating Centre for WHO on Districts Health System based in Centre of Excellence and Primary Health Centre in Health Management Research.
