IIIT Allahabad (Indian Institute of Information Technology) has celebrated its first Researcher’s Day on March 24, 2018, Saturday. The main auditorium of IIIT Allahabad was the venue for the inaugural ceremony of this grand event. Former Director of IIIT Allahabad, Professor Somenath Biswas and Professor BN Chatterjee from IIT Kharagpur were present at the inaugural ceremony of Researcher’s Day. Director of IIIT Allahabad , Professor P Nagabushanam welcomed the guests and inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

During the inaugural ceremony, Director of IIIT Allahabad announced that Researcher’s Day would be celebrated on the first Saturday of March from the next year. He urged the students to develop a scientific attitude with a motive to promote science in India. Instead of concerning on ‘What to Answer’, students must focus on ‘How to Answer’. The future researchers should always keep in mind that their research should have a scientific purpose , and not merely for making money or earning positions, he expressed.
Motivating the students, Professor P Nagabushanam mentioned that students should have passion on researchers and they must feel free to ask questions. Everyone should respect their own feelings and work according to them, he opined.
Addressing the students, Professor Somenath Biswas gave a detailed analysis of his research work namely ‘Computational Lens and Natural Algorithm’ . According to him, computation lens is specifically used to model a phenomenon. He also gave short analysis on the evolution of the virus .

Professor BN Chatterjee gave a detailed explanation of planning and implementation of research activities . He gave an in-depth analysis on the types of researchers and urged the students to focus on academic researchers. Students will have to select their research area based on their area of interest, experience and passion. He also emphasised the significance of planning in the research field.
