The entrepreneur division of International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Hyderabad) will host ‘Megathon 2017’ on September 23 & 24, 2017, in collaboration with the E-Cell of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad. It is the second edition of the flagship event which is considered to be one of the largest student hackathon in Hyderabad. The event will be organised by IIIT Hyderabad in collaboration with E-Cell of Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad.
During ‘Megathon 2017’, students will receive five problem statements, which are divided into two categories - Corporate and Social – Provided by IBM, Amazon, PwC and She Team – Hyderabad Police. The problem statements will cover the following topics: -
- E-Commerce
- Chat-Bot
- Women Safety
- Privacy and Security
- Smart Cities

The main objective of the competition is to encourage and support the student community to come up with own ideas with appropriate guidance and bolster an entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2016, the event received more than 1,000 registrations and witnessed the participation of 450 students from 85 colleges across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. There were two winning solutions last year, which received mentorship from IIIT Hyderabad’s CIE or Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship three-month programme.

Through this hackathon, students will have an opportunity to win Rs. 1.5 lakh of cash prizes, gift vouchers from Amazon and seed funding of Rs. 5 lakh from CIE of IIIT Hyderabad. Each participant will be provided T-Shirt, Certificate of Participation and other exciting goodies.
