In order to increase and improve gender diversity, IIIT Hyderabad has introduced special measures through which it has set a target of admitting at least 25% of women candidates to 4 years B.Tech program via JEE Mian for 2020-2021 admission session. IIIT Hyderabad has attained several measures to facilitate this decision of improving gender diversity.

In this context, IIIT Hyderabad has also introduced a financial incentive through which the women representative who is seeking admission to 4 years B.Tech program will be provided with a scholarship of 25% over the tuition fee. this scholarship provided will be valid for all four years of the program. The meritorious women students who have been admitted through the JEE mode of 2020 will also get a merit scholarship at the starting pf 2nd year for their 4 years B.Tech program. Moreover, there will be a volunteer application fee of INR 500 only for the women who have applied through the JEE Mode 2020.

In regards to these incentives and measures taken for the improvement of gender diversity, the Dean of Academics at IITH, Prof Jayanthi Sivaswamy stated that the education at IIITH Hyderbad has always provided the best opportunities for its students, be it to pursue a job, start their own venture, or apply for reputable universities for higher education. She further added that through this initiative taken by IIITH, we expect to empower more women to join us and create a successful career path for themselves.
