Kanchipuram-based Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) announces application open for admission for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) programmes from eligible candidates for the academic session 2017. IIITDM is an institution of national importance established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2007 and is located on the outskirts of Chennai.

IIITDM Kanchipuram offers Ph. D Programmes in the following areas like:
- Computer Engineering
- Electronics and Communication
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mathematics
Selection Procedure at IIITDM Kanchipuram :
- Candidates will be selected for the programme on the basis of their academic record, performance in the test followed by an interview round.
Those candidates with following qualifications will be exempted from the entrance examination:
- A B. Tech degree from IIT/ IIIT with a minimum CPA of 8.0 on a 10 point scale, having a valid GATE score
- A Bachelor's degree holder in Engineering/ Technology from a recognized university/ institute with name in the top 10 rank holders with a valid GATE score
Eligibility Criteria for Ph. D at IIITDM Kancheepuram:
- Candidates aspiring for the programme must have to possess a Master's degree in Engineering/ Design Technology from a recognized university/institute
- Candidates should have a Master of Science (MS) degree by Research in Engineering/ Technology with a sound academic record
- Besides that they should possess a valid GATE score or UGC/ NBHM/ CSIR NET/ or equivalent qualification in the relevant area
How to Apply for Ph. D IIITDM Kanchipuram:
Interested candidates have to apply online through the website of the institute. Since the online application is accepted, the candidates are advised to take a printout of their application forms and keep the same for the record. Application fees for GN/ OBC-NC Male candidates is INR 250 while for GN/OBC-NC Female candidates/SC/ST and PwD candidates INR 125.
