Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad is the first B-School in India which is going to podcast lectures of topical interest. One of the officials of IIM-A revealed that it is the first institute in the country to launch such an initiative.
The first lecture was delivered last Friday where Prof. Satish Deodhar, an Economics faculty presented his views on demonetization. The initiative was launched through Twitter, and the lecture was titled as ‘Newton to NaMo. One of the officials indicated that the initiative was launched on the lines of ‘Digital India' initiative of the Central government.

He further added that busy corporate leaders and executives would find this initiative as beneficial particularly while they are on the move. The lectures will be updated every 15 days, and around 100 faculty members are lined up to deliver the lectures. Experts from all the departments of IIM-A will also deliver the lectures. So far seven faculty members have agreed to deliver the lecture. Prof. Arvind Sahay, faculty of the Marketing department, is expected to give a lecture on January 28, 2017.

One of the officials expressed that IIM-A launched this initiative with an objective to achieve global outreach. He further explained that ‘Digital India' initiative is the role model for an initiative like podcast lectures. On the other hand, the institute also launched a new website and created its own official social networking accounts.
He further indicated that the institute is also planning to open an Instagram account in February.
