IIM Ahmedabad inaugurated the construction of Big Data Lab in its campus on 1st April 2019. The lab is for future growth and IIM Ahmedabad is the first institute in India to establish it.
The demand for Big Data Analytics Professionals is soaring which is leading to institutes in India making a lot of changes and alterations in their academic ground to meet the demands of industries. The renowned institutes of the nation including all IIMs and IITs have more pressure on themselves in this regard as these institutes are claimed to manufacture some of the greatest squads of management and tech minds. This makes it hectic for the regulatory bodies of these institutes in maintaining the balance of the demand and supply chain.
With the IIM Act being enforced, these institutes are now more focused on things like building infrastructure and they encourage restoration processes within the institutes. The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad has recently put a high-performance Big Data Lab in place. It is the first institute to have this lab.

The investment in the infrastructure is enabling the professionals massively to work on big data. The laboratory will be put into use to commence a business analytics programme. IIM Ahmedabad already has courses that orbit around the Internet of Things (IoT), Cryptocurrency, and Big Data in the context of marketing areas. Establishing the laboratory will also strengthen the operations and functioning of the organizations in the future.
There are two sides to this tech-development coin. The set-up has provided IIM Ahmedabad with more autonomy while also demanding heavy responsibility from the institute too. The regular functioning of these institutes has also turned into a formalized ecosystem after the act has been processed.
The faculties of IIM Ahmedabad have been engaged with policymaking bodies like MPC, SEBI, RBI, etc. for a long time. The idea that lead to the whole revamping is to gain experience, leverage it, and also to work with business organizations and regulatory bodies so as to flourish in the competitive environment of today. The JSW School of Public Policy is being established to fulfill this perspective.

The inauguration ceremony for it was performed on 1st April 2019 and it is expected to reach a complete running phase in the coming 24 months.
