TiE Ahmedabad organised the second edition of the entrepreneurial conference ‘TiEcon’ on March 4, 2017, at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad . The conference was attended by 650 startups, entrepreneurs and industry experts.
TiE stands for The Indus Entrepreneurs. TiE Ahmedabad is an individual chapter of the global non-profit organisation The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). During the conference, various industry experts and entrepreneurs shared their ideas and views on various topics.

Ankit Chona, Managing Director (MD) of Havmor expressed that there is a need to implement the ideas for sustainable growth. CIL has created Claris Capital, which is a venture capital fund firm and is looking forward to investing in startups. The event witnessed the participation of 12 investors. Around 20-23 startups also took part in the event and pitched their ideas and exhibited themselves.
On this occasion, experts discussed on ‘Reinventing Family Business’. The were of the opinion that the effective implementation of ideas is mandatory for the development of startups.

Samir Somaiya, CMD of Godavari Biorefineries revealed that one needs to reinvent his/her business by using new ideas and knowledge. The world is changing and new ideas must take lead and position in the development of business.
Kulin Lalbhai, Executive Director of Arvind Ltd expressed that they have succeeded in transforming the traditional textile company to a leading denim maker to an apparel giant. Currently, they are planning to reinvent its digital next generation company. On the other hand, the ideas of sustainable development are also necessary to boost the country's economy.
