Keeping in mind the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, the IIM Ahmedabad admission committee has decided to revise the shortlisting criteria for MBA admissions . As per the latest announcement made by the institute, the academic rating (AR) will now be calculated with the marks acquired in class 10th, class 12th, and work experience. The bachelor’s degree will not be a component anymore for granting admission to the 2022-24 batch of the postgraduate programme (PGPM).
Due to the COVID-19 situation in the last two years, many universities were forced to cancel the examination and promote students based on alternative criteria. CAT committee also allowed aspirants to write the national level entrance exam without minimum aggregate marks in their degree exams. Following a similar pattern and keeping into view the COVID-19 pandemic, IIM Ahemdabad also came to a conclusion that the bachelor’s degree component should be removed from the shortlisting criteria for the 2022-24 batch.

The AR for MBA admission at IIM Ahemdabad will now be calculated on a scale of 25 and the points will be pro-rated to 35. The revised formula for calculating the composite score (CS) is provided below:
Composite Score = 0.35 * (pro-rated AR Score/ 35) + 0.65 * (normalized overall CAT Score) |

Here pro-rated AR Score = [(AR score calculated by taking 0 points for Bachelor’s degree)/ 25] * 35
Along with the revised admission criteria, IIM Ahemdabad has also announced the admission cutoff and other important shortlisting details on its official website.
