Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) has witnessed an increasing number of female candidates enrolling for its PGP programme. At the same time, the number of non-engineers enrolling for its PGP programme is the highest ever in more than 15 years.

Chairperson of IIM Ahmedabad (Admissions), Apratim Guha revealed that the objective of the institute was to invite candidates from diverse backgrounds to interviews based on their academic performance and score in qualifying examination. The approach adopted by the institute will play a significant role in improving the in-class learning experience of the students.

Director of IIM Ahmedabad, Mr. Ashish Nanda indicated the diversity had been achieved without holding extra credits or giving special quotas because of gender. According to him, a broad mix of gender will play an important role in developing a richer learning environment at the institute.
