The Indian Institute of Management-Amritsar (IIM-Amritsar) is going to start a management development institute in the city of Chandigarh to offer self-financing MBA Programs.

IIM Amritsar to Start Training Institutes

IIM Amritsar was established in 2015 in the city of Amritsar. The institute is now planning to establish some new of-campus centres at Mohali, Chandigarh and its adjoining areas over three-five acres of land. The college will offer short-term executive education courses, master of business administration (MBA) and part-time evening programmes in data analytics and data mining for professionals.

According to the director of IIM Amritsar, Prof Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, the establishment of these centres will allow the candidates to brush up on their managing skills and it will provide them with the opportunity to work in Punjab. Since Mohali and Chandigarh are the base for many IT companies, these centres will cater to the need of professionals. The director said that they were looking for some new sites but the locations are not finalised yet. The final decision regarding the locations will be done after considering the financial feasibility of the location.

The Indian Institute of Management-Amritsar (IIM-Amritsar) has already discussed with the state government regarding land allotment. They are targeting some locations in Mohali as Mohali is already home for some of the major educational institutes in India such as the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) , Indian School of Business (ISB) and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER). Besides this, Ashoka University and Amity Group are also looking to establish their campus in the city.
