Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) has released the list of Educational institutes. IIM K has been ranked as the 2nd most innovative educational institute.
Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), an initiative by the Ministry of Education has released ARIIA 2021 rankings. The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) has been awarded the second position in the category of National Importance, Central University, and Centrally Funded Institutions (CFI). IIM-K is the only institute to secure ranks amongst all Management Institutes.
ARIIA had organised an online event in which the list was released by Subhas Sarkar, the Union Minister of State for Education. Top ranking institutes such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, IISC, and other major higher education institutions were a part of this. In the current edition, there were a total of 1,438 institutions. IGNOU, Delhi was awarded the first position.
ARIIA divides its ranks into several categories and IIM-K is the only IIM to hold positions in seven categories. In the 2020 edition of ARIIA , IIM-K was capable to hold the Rank Band A (Ranks 11-25) in the same category as National Importance, Central University, and CFI. Also, this is the first time that ARIIA has introduced a new category, Non-Technical Institutions.
The Director of IIM-K, Professor Debashis Chatterjee expressed his gratitude and said that IIM-K has successfully been ranked second by ARIIA and fourth by NIRF on the Silver Jubilee Year of the Institute. He also added that IIM-K has laid its bedrock on the foundation of Innovation to go beyond the boundaries and provide the best for the students. The Institutes has tried its best to surpass traditional ways and tries to motivate and guide students toward entrepreneurial spirit to the fundamental Vision of 2047 of Globalizing Indian Thought.

IIM-K has established its Business Incubator and Entrepreneur Development Centre in 2016 with the support of the Science and Technology Department, IIM-K LIVE . This center focuses on creating and promoting new business ideas, innovations, business ventures, and entrepreneurship. Thus, the institute made itself sufficient enough to provide all assistance to its students.
