Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has announced the selection of 100 women entrepreneurs and their ideas for incubation. The women entrepreneur selected are graduates of the 2018 class - Women Startup Programme (WSP) . WSP is supported by Departments of Science and Technology (DST), and Goldman Sachs.
WSP is one of its kind online training programme which offers aspiring Indian women entrepreneurs with a platform to identify and test their innovations and business ideas. It also builds managerial and entrepreneurial skills in them and also offers financial support.

IIM Bangalore informed that the class of 2018 WSP received an overwhelming response. Around 6,000 women entrepreneurs registered for the same in partnerships with premier institutions such as IIM Nagpur , IIM Udaipur , IIM Visakhapatnam , IIE Guwahati, and IIM Sirmaur.
The selected women entrepreneurs will receive a fellowship of Rs. 30,000 per month. Along with the financial support to start their businesses. Ten women from the group who have the best business idea will also be offered an opportunity of a startup study trip to Israel. The incubation classes will be focusing on multiple sectors this year, which include e-commerce, retail, finance, manufacturing, wellness, retail, and healthcare.

One of the 100 selected entrepreneurs, Bhavna Purana Hosadurgam, founder of mom SAURUS shares her experience about WSP. She said that the WSP provided her with access to the tools and processes which were necessary to translate her concept into a working idea. It also gives her courage and connected her to several others like-minded women with whom she discussed her ideas.
