The first edition of the Positive Impact Rating was released at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Two of India's top schools for management education IIM-B and XLRI have been featured on the list, which aims to find the impact of B-Schools in driving societal change.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore and Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur , two of the top MBA colleges in India , have been featured among the top 30 management schools of the world in the Positive Impact Ratings 2020. Also featured on the list are some of the other prominent institutions for management education in the world, which include the EDHEC Business School (France), London Business School (UK), Haas School of Business (UC Berkley, USA), Esade Business School (Spain) etc.

The Positive Impact Rating was a brainchild of a group of academicians and leaders in the management field with the motive of measuring the impact and potential of global management schools and management education in bringing about a change in society. It was initiated in 2018 and the first edition of PIR has just now been released at the World Economic Forum, which is being conducted in Davos from 21 January 2020 to 24 January 2020.
A total of 51 management schools from around the world participated in the first edition of PIR, of which 30 were featured in the list. While 9 colleges, including IIM Bangalore, have been featured in the Level 4 (Transforming Schools), XLRI and 20 others made it to Level 3 (Progressing Schools) list. No management college was able to make it to Level 5 in the list.

The schools were selected from a pool of Top 50 Colleges from the Financial Times Masters in Management 2018 ranking (FT) and Corporate Knights Green MBA ranking (CK) each. International student organizations -- such as SOS UK, StudentenvoorMorgen, AIESEC, Oikos International and Net Impact -- reached out to the students at the selected schools, who provided the ratings used in formulating this list.
Other organizations that were a part of the collaboration behind PIR are WWF Switzerland, Global Compact Switzerland and OXFAM.

Analysis of the PIR and how the students have rated has shown some unexpected and interesting trends and more such results are expected in the future.
