The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bodh Gaya has offered academic collaboration with Magadha University located in Bodh Gaya, Bihar.
The IIM director has not only proposed to offer short-term academic programme including leadership development but it also has shown interest in collaborative programmes such as Introduction to Business Analytics, a trending course involving corporate data handling, analytics to interpret data and to make informed business decisions having wide scope in future.

According to the sources, the IIM has offered assistance in the restructuring of the Magadha University's academic programmes to be in sync with the changes happening in the academic as well as the job market. It wishes to make MU relevant according to the requirements of the current job situation. There is almost complete unanimity among the academic bodies involved. The syllabus of the university is thoroughly outdated. Earlier, a proposal was also made to remove less popular subjects like Bangla, Persian and Pali.

IIM Bodh Gaya was announced in 2014 by the newly formed Government of India. In January 2015, the HRD Minister Smriti Irani had cleared the proposal for its campus in Bodh Gaya, Bihar. Thus, Govt of Bihar selected 118 acres of land inside Magadh University campus. IIM aims to be the future of business education preparing the graduates for higher-level positions in industries. Following the steps of IIM Calcutta, IIM Bodh Gaya has strengthened its position in a very short span of a year in the league of premier B-schools.
