The IIM (Indian Institute of Management), Bodhgaya situated in Bihar is planning to introduce a new look to it with its new green campus building set to be completed by 2020. The new campus will be spread over 73 acres in the historic city of Bodhgaya in Bihar. An IIM Bodh Gaya official on Saturday said that the new campus building is inspired from Buddhist philosophies evolved to make it into a building which will promote the quest for progress in the Management Studies field.
IIM Bodhgaya is one of the newest institutes among the 16 institutes of such kind in India, established in 2015, the IIM Bodhgaya selected CP Kukreja architects through a competition to build the new building. The CP Kukreja architects are considered as one of the leading architecture firms in India.
Mr. Dikshu C. Kukreja, the Managing Principal of the architecture firm CP Kukreja Architects said that they are interested to put all of their endeavours to set up the state of the art new campus of world-class level keeping in mind the historical significance of the city. He added that their design is an amalgamation of the renowned ideologies merged with modernism which contributes for a futuristic vision of building a holistic form of academic space.

The campus design will have its roots in the Buddhist philosophies. The traditional Buddhist doorways known as ‘Torana’s will be greeting the visitors with its grandeur. In between the toranas, an impression of a bodhi tree will be created where Buddha is believed to have sat and sought enlightenment. This will expectedly stimulate the hunger for excellence among the students. This edifice of bodhi tree will be made designed such aa way that it will be visible from all the sides of the campus to spread its inspiration for values, wisdom, tranquillity and serenity.

The library block is also an important feature of the new building, the library walls will be made to look like a vertical stack of books which will create the expression of knowledge and the greatness it possesses. The architects have planned the campus such a manner that it complements and embraces the historical and spiritual significance of the site.
