An MoU of five years is signed between Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata (Calcutta) and two foreign universities i.e. Carleton University, Canada and Montpellier Business School, France separately. The MoU is signed for the benefit of students as they will get better learning exposure. It will also open the scope for research and cultural understanding. The memorandum of understanding is signed between the colleges under the banner of the cultural exchange program of IIM, Kolkata.
IIM, Kolkata has various academic partnerships with Carleton University, Canada that includes executive training and research collaboration. IIM, Kolkata in collaboration with the Montpellier Business School, France plans to organize joint conferences, workshops, joint research programs, etc for students. This collaboration will involve the exchange of doctorate and postgraduate students, faculty members, and academic materials and information.

Professor Prashant Mehra said that this cultural exchange program will help the students by sharpening their skills and providing them with a bigger perspective. He also added that this will teach them how to work together as a team with people from different cultural backgrounds and will contribute largely to the professional and personal development of the students. Collaboration with foreign universities will also provide students with global exposure and relevant opportunities.
