Recently, IIM Calcutta has decided to hike the fees for its two-year flagship PGP course by 5% for the batch of 2018-20. As per the official information of IIM Calcutta, students who will be admitted to PGP batch of 2018-20 will have to pay Rs. 21 lakh for the two-year PGP course. Chairperson of IIM Calcutta, Srikrishna Kulkarni revealed that the fee hike for the PGP course is majorly an adjustment to inflation.

The premier management institute , which used to revise its fee structure for every three years, is now planning to hold annual reviews. The previous fee hike for PGP course was made in 2016. It seems like the premier institute is expected to hike the fees for every two years.

The 53 rd convocation of IIM Calcutta took place on Saturday, April 07, 2018. Even though a couple of IIMs have awarded degrees instead of PGP diplomas , IIM Calcutta conferred diplomas to students. The decision to award diplomas was taken after holding a long meeting with the Faculty Body of the premier institute. During the meeting, the Faculty Body figured out some legal and technical hurdles in awarding degrees. Next year, IIM Calcutta is expected to award degrees.
Recently, IIM Calcutta and TSW have jointly launched a PG certificate course in Family Business Management & Entrepreneurship . The duration of this new and unique course will be one-year (12 months). The course will help the participants to develop necessary skills for running their own family business.
