IIM Calcutta Student Exchange with International B-Schools Soon

IIM Calcutta Student Exchange with International B-Schools Soon

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has collaborated with Paris School of Business and Florida International University in order to start student exchange programmes (STEP) for exposure and diverse business education.

A spokesperson from the prestigious institute said that a MoU has been signed by IIM Calcutta with the two international B-schools to create an exchange channel for students.

The spokesperson added that the students of IIM Calcutta will get to learn a lot from the group of students coming from different nationalities. It will also help them in understanding global business issues and finding feasible solutions for them.

The orientation for the student exchange programme for the academic session 2017-18 was organized by IIM Calcutta recently.

Dean of Academics at IIM Calcutta, Professor Biju Paul Abraham, said that it is essential for the upcoming managers and business leaders to adapt quickly to the dynamic conditions of the global business environment.

He added that familiarity with the foreign culture and etiquette will be helpful for aspiring managers to perform well in a global environment. He also said that IIM Calcutta aims at making its students capable of dealing with an increasingly globalised world.

IIM Calcutta also offers exchange programmes with four other business schools including Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. The institute has received 71 applications for the student exchange programme this session as compared to 64 for the session 2016-17.

The institute has also recorded a rise in the number of outgoing students. The number was 92 for the academic session 2016-17, whereas, the number of outgoing students in 2017-18 has gone up to 115.
