The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore jointly offer a Master of Science programme in Data Science and Management. The programme was inaugurated on March 21, 2022. IIT Indore director Prof Neelesh Kumar Jain and IIM Indore director Prof Himanshu Rai signed the MoU in September to jointly offer the online programme. Since Indore is the only place in India that houses both the IIT and IIM, it is a practical decision to launch the course keeping in mind the rise in the demand for efficient data scientists and analysts.
The programme will enable students to transform data into better business decisions. Students will be able to both identify areas of business where data science can add value and provide inputs to algorithm developers and data analysts. The IIT and IIMs ‘Master’s in Data Science and Management programme aims to provide better education to future data scientists.
