IIM Indore has received AMBA Business Excellence Award 2019 in Business School Impact on Community and Society on 1st February 2019. Professor Rohit Kapoor received the award in London on behalf of IIM Indore. The institute won this award for its rural immersion programme, an initiative which enables students to understand the problems faced by the rural areas and then come up with solutions to solve the problems.
This award by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) is to honour the AMBA-accredited Business schools which share AMBA’s commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and are also passionate about making a difference. The award is given to business schools which are involved in creating sustainability and also familiarising the MBA students about social values.

Rural Immersion programme was started in 2009, and it has an objective to sensitize the managers and entrepreneurs of the institute towards the various government schemes in villages. The programme’s aim is to offer insights into the various dimensions of the district level administration, and focus on the policy administration and gaps in the execution while removing certain stereotypes with the rural population. This programme was conducted over a week in several districts in Madhya Pradesh.

IIM Indore also bagged a certificate of commendation under the MBA Innovation category for the Himalayan Outbound Programme. Himanshu Rai, IIM Indore’s Professor has given the credit for the achievement to the IIM Indore community.
