IIM Indore has changed its selection criteria for admission to the Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) after a span of three years. The revised admission procedure for the PGP batch of 2017-19 has been announced.
The institute will now be considering CAT scores in the final round of selection process that has not been done for the past three years.

Before 2013, 20% weightage was given to CAT score in both first round and last round of the three-stage selection process of IIM Indore. The institute will be reviving this criteria for the admission to the PGP batch of 2017-2018. This information was confirmed by Akhtar Parvez, Media in-Charge, IIM Indore.
In the first round of selection process the weightage will be as follows:
Components | Weights |
---|---|
CAT Score | 20% |
Class 10 th and 12 th score | 76% |
Gender diversity score for female candidates | 4% |
Following is the revised component weightage for the final selection at IIM Indore:
Components | Revised Weights |
---|---|
12th Standard/ HSC Score | 10% |
10th Standard/SSC Score | 10% |
CAT Score | 20% |
WAT Score | 20% |
PI Score | 40% |
Students must have scored atleast 90% overall percentile in order to be eligible for GD and PI rounds at IIM Indore. However, scoring 90 percentile will not ensure admission as CAT score is not the only aspect that is considered and weightage is given to a candidate's overall profile including the work experience.

IIM Indore will be shortlisting 4,500 test takers in the first phase of screening for the PGP batch 2017. This number is close to 10 times the approved intake that is 452. Gender diversity points will be given to female candidates but students will not be awarded bonus weightage for academic diversity or for non-engineering backgrounds.
