IIM Indore students will be awarded MBA degrees instead of diplomas for students who have successfully completed the programme this year. A meeting was organized by the academic council on 22 March 2018 and it is when they decided to conferred degrees in the place of a diploma. The convocation ceremony of Indian Institute of Management, Indore is to take place on 28 March 2018. Aditya Ghosh, President & Director of InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. will be the chief guest for the convocation ceremony of IIM- Indore.

Academic Council of IIM Indore suggested the Board of Governors to award the following degrees instead of diplomas on the convocation and they are as follows:
- Bachelor of Arts- Foundations of Management, under the dual degree programme
- Master of Business Administration who have completed the 5- year integrated programme in management ( IPM)
- MBA degree to candidates who have successfully completed the 2-year Post Graduate programme in Management
As per the reports, the Academic council suggested the BoG that the degrees should be awarded to the students who have successfully completed the long duration programmes at the Institute such as PGPMX, FPM, EPGP. Before this year candidates were awarded diplomas.

The pre-convocation ceremony of IIM-Indore will take place on 27 March 2018 and the chief guest of the event will be Rahul Razdan, CEO, Reliance JIO; Shantiswarup Panda, Chief Marketing Officer, Raymond Ltd.
