Indian Institute of Management, Indore organised the 18 th annual convocation ceremony on March 30, 2017. Around 650 students have been conferred diplomas and 19 students have been conferred the title of fellow at IIM Indore. Arun Lowes Dickson, Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School was the chief guest for the programme.
Addressing the students, Prof. Arun Lowes advised the students to stay humble and remain thankful for what they have. He cited that courage, humility and trust is something the students must have while they set off on their professional careers.

Srikant Datar, the chief guest for the occasion revealed that one of the biggest challenges is to build trust between business and society. Therefore, changes can be brought only through innovation and positive thoughts from young leaders. Speaking about the impact of globalisation and digitisation, Mr. Srikant pointed that the employment opportunities have been affected in both developed and developing countries. He further indicated the same by giving an example that self-driving cars might have reduced jobs but these cars help in regulating traffic and accidents.
Deepak Satwalekar, Chairman of Indian Institute of Management, Indore expressed that it is the right time for budding entrepreneurs to enter the business world as there are disruptions happening across the globe. Now, the ecosystem has undergone changes and become more receptive. He advised the students to be themselves and not to copy others.

On this occasion, a total number of 449 PGP students and 62 students from PGP (Mumbai) were conferred diplomas. A total number of 100 IPM students received diplomas for the five-year integrated programme in management. Similarly, a total number of 21 participants of PGPMX-UAE and 41 participants of EPGP received the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
