The newest batch at the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur has witnessed an enrolment of female candidates which has been higher as compared to the last batch in their flagship postgraduate programme of MBA . There has been an increase of 186% in terms of female enrollment at the institute.
The new batch has female students from the 20 states/UTs of the country. IIM Kashipur has also continued its initiative of sanctioning 15 supernumerary seats for female students to promote gender diversity.

The current batch is being seen as the most academically diverse batch so far with 45% of the batch coming from non-engineering disciplines such as science, commerce, humanities, architecture, hotel and tourism. The batch is also culturally very diverse with students from all the corners of India. More than 23% of the students are from the southern parts of India.
IIM Kashipur recently inducted 285 students into the 10th batch of its flagship MBA and 54 students into the 1st batch of the MBA Analytics course. MBA Analytics course has 54% female students and this is the first time that the majority of the students are female in any batch of IIM Kashipur. Diversity can also be witnessed in terms of the educational background in MBA Analytics with 26% of the students from science, commerce, architecture etc.

Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, director, IIM Kashipur delivered the inaugural address to the batch and highlighted the innovations they have brought in the curriculum and have updated the content, structure and plan for delivery to make the MBA curriculum more relevant for the real-world issues and problem-solving.
